Today, I checked the process at the Bogor Post OfficeBogor, W Java (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) highlighted that the health protocol was diligently followed during the distribution of cash transfer (BLT) to beneficiaries in Bogor City, West Java.
"I want to ensure and review the distribution of cash transfer to the public. Today, I checked the process at the Bogor Post Office," Jokowi remarked after a visit to the Bogor Post Office located near the Presidential Palace in Bogor, West Java, on Wednesday.
The president ensured that the health protocol was strictly applied during the distribution process.
"I can see that all has run well, and during the process, the people queued up, maintained physical distancing, wore masks, and cleaned their hands with sanitizer before collecting the money," he stated.
Jokowi reiterated the need to firmly apply the health protocol in a bid to stem the spread of COVID-19.
The president, in a white shirt, arrived at the post office at around 8:30 a.m. local time in the company of Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, Social Affairs Minister Juliari Batubara, and Bogor Mayor Bima Arya.
After 15 minutes of observing the distribution process, the head of state left the location for the Presidential Palace to lead a limited meeting.
The government has been implementing several safety net programs amid the COVID-19 outbreak, including the disbursement of BLT of Rp600 thousand per family on a monthly basis for a period of three months.
Under the program, special social assistance is also offered to the residents of Greater Jakarta (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi) area. The beneficiaries will receive staple food worth Rp600 thousand for each family per month for a duration of three months.
The government has also increased the beneficiaries of the Family Hope Program (PKH), from 9.2 million to 10 million families and beneficiaries of the Non-Cash Food Assistance program, from 15 million to 20 million families.
